F4J say Birth Certificate Proposals is Government Attempt to Turn Dads into ‘Cashpoints’

Fathers4Justice this morning rejected out of hand government proposals to force fathers to be named on their baby’s birth certificate as a licence to turn dads into ‘cashpoints.’

The organisation said the proposal was cynical anti-gender discrimination masquerading as pro-fathers legislation when the reality was that without any rights, this sought to simply enforce responsibility to pay.

Said F4J Campaign Director Nadine O’Connor, “This is simply another attempt to turn dads into cash machines. Child support should mean emotional and financial support, you simply cannot have responsibilities without rights. They are turning a nation of dads into cashpoints.”
